OK, bear with me, this is my first attempt at packaging software for Linux, so if it’s broken, let me know. The development version of Inkscape now requires a shared version of libwpg 0.1.0, the current stable version as of 11/4/2007. I’ve gotten used to building source packages and using checkinstall to create an easily-uninstalled package. So, here’s my checkinstall-built package of libwpg 0.1.0 for Ubuntu Feisty:

libwpg 0.1.0 for Ubuntu Feisty

This installs to /usr and includes all the include headers for building Inkscape. It requires the libwpd-stream8c2a, libwpd8-dev, and libwpd8c2a packages as well.
