(The effect is currently only available in the development version of Inkscape and requires Python.)

From the Effects menu, select Generate Template > Perfect-Bound Cover:

Enter in your book’s properties. For instance, A Moment of Clarity Volume 1 is a 6″x9″ book with 176 pages. At Acredale Media, it’s printed on paper with a PPI of 426 and the cover is printed on 9pt stock. I need 1/8″ bleeds. Here’s how I set up the document:

The wraparound perfect-bound cover is now ready for artwork and crop marks. If you are designing a cover, please try out the cover generator and let me know if the measurements it generates are correct for your project! I really want this effect working as well as I possibly can get it to work.
