My friend mental loaned me Blake Snyder’s “Save the Cat!” a while back. I liked it so much, I bought my own copy, and started to use one of the book’s tools — The Board — to start plotting out Volume 3. I used a rough outline for plotting out Volume 2, but I like The Board better, because it gives me a much better idea of where my story is missing “meat”. For instance, in my current incarnation of The Board, I’m missing a good bit in Act I, some stuff in Act II, and a bunch of stuff in Act III:

I’ll post weekly updates on my progress with The Board.  Once it’s filled, I can start sharpening up the script for Volume 3.  I hope to have the script all written by the time I finish the art for Volume 2, so that I can get right on the next book.
